AI Solutions for Solicitors — the Sober Version
Your profession has watched AI invent case citations and end careers. So we'll start where most vendors finish: with what we will never let it near, and what it can safely take off your fee earners today.
AI solutions for solicitors, done properly, automate the administrative and communication layer of an Irish law firm — answering calls, routing email to the right matter, updating clients on conveyancing and probate, capturing new enquiries with conflict details, and flagging dates. They do not generate legal advice. Every output is read by a fee earner before it goes anywhere.

We don't put a polished demo video here, because you can test the real thing: the chat bubble in the corner of this page is one of our own agents. Ask it something awkward. The same technology answers phones and sorts inboxes for our clients.
Solicitors Are Right to Be Sceptical About AI
No profession has been sold more AI and burned more publicly by it. Lawyers in several jurisdictions have been sanctioned for filing submissions containing authorities a chatbot simply invented, complete with plausible citations and judges who never sat. That is not a teething problem — it is the technology behaving exactly as designed, producing text that reads correctly rather than text that is correct.
So the first question a firm should ask a vendor is not "what can your AI do?" but "what will you refuse to let it do?" Ours is a short list and we lead with it: we do not generate legal advice, we do not summarise or cite authorities, we do not draft advices, opinions or pleadings unsupervised, and nothing goes to a client or to the other side without a fee earner having read it. What's left is the administrative and communication layer — and in most Irish firms, that layer is where the hours quietly disappear.
Where AI Is Safe in a Law Firm — and Where It Isn't
The same line we hold on every legal project, written down before we start.
| Task | Our position |
|---|---|
| Answering the phone when reception is on another call | Automate. Low risk, high return. |
| Routing incoming email to the correct matter file | Automate, with an exceptions queue for anything ambiguous. |
| Telling a client where their sale or purchase stands | Automate from a fixed status source your firm controls — never from the agent's own inference. |
| Extracting data from completed standard forms | Automate the extraction, require a human tick before it lands on the file. |
| Flagging an approaching limitation date or deadline | Automate as a prompt. It supplements your diary; it never replaces it. |
| Drafting an advice, opinion or pleading | Not automated. That is the fee earner's work and the firm's liability. |
| Summarising case law or producing citations | Not automated. This is the documented failure mode. We won't build it. |
| Anything leaving the firm unread by a solicitor | Never. There is no configuration in which we allow this. |
If a supplier is willing to blur the bottom half of that table for you, that tells you what their professional-indemnity conversation will look like later. The Law Society of Ireland's guidance on technology in practice comes back to the same principle every time: you may delegate the task, never the responsibility. We build to that, and we write it into the scope.
Six AI Projects That Earn Their Keep in an Irish Law Firm
Not one grand system. Narrow, boring, measurable pieces — usually delivered one at a time.
Reception and the Phone
Calls answered on the first ring, including while reception is on another line, at lunch, or after five. Existing clients get put through or called back; new callers are taken properly rather than losing patience with voicemail. Built on our AI receptionist; the legal configuration is on the AI receptionist for solicitors page.
Inbox Triage and Matter Threading
Correspondence from the other side, from lenders, from estate agents and from clients sorted and threaded against the right matter as it arrives — instead of a partner scrolling a shared inbox at half nine at night. Our email manager does the sorting; see email management for solicitors for the legal setup.
Client Status Updates
"Any news on the contracts?" and "how long does probate take?" are reasonable questions that eat fee-earner hours. The agent answers from a status your firm sets on each matter, and escalates anything it can't answer from that record.
New-Enquiry Capture With Conflict Check
Every new enquiry captured in a consistent shape — parties, other side, property or accident details — and screened against your existing parties before anyone spends time on it. Conflicts surface at first contact, not at the second meeting.
Document Intake and Data Extraction
Standard forms, ID documents, completed questionnaires and the paperwork clients email in fragments: read, indexed and the key fields pulled into your system for a fee earner to confirm. The typing goes away; the checking doesn't.
Deadline and Date Flagging
An early warning layer over the dates that matter — closing dates, replies to requisitions, statutory periods, Injuries Resolution Board timelines. A prompt to a named person, sitting alongside your diary rather than pretending to be it.
Privileged Material, and Where It Actually Lives
The question your clients would ask if they knew to ask it.
A solicitor's duty of confidentiality doesn't get diluted because a supplier's brochure says "secure cloud". The practical questions are narrow: where is this data processed, where is it stored, who can reach it, is it used to train anyone's model, and what happens to it when we stop. We answer those in writing before you sign anything.
For legal work we build on EU-hosted infrastructure with a data processing agreement in place, per-matter access controls, and an audit log of every action the agent takes — so if you're ever asked how a piece of correspondence was handled, there's a record rather than a shrug. Your correspondence is never used to train models. For privileged material, an Irish or EU-hosted setup isn't a preference; it's the difference between a straightforward answer to a client and an uncomfortable one. GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Commission's expectations are the floor we design to, not a box we tick afterwards. Our co-founder is a Security Architect, which is why this section exists at all — it's the part of the conversation we enjoy.
You Already Have a Case Management System. The Work Is Integration.
Nearly every firm we speak to is already running case management, already has accounts software, and has no appetite for another login. Nobody is ripping that out, least of all us. The useful projects sit around the edges: reading from your matter records so the agent can answer a status question, writing an enquiry into your system so nobody rekeys it, and dropping a flagged date in front of the right person.
Where a system has a usable API we connect to it directly. Where it doesn't — and plenty of legal software doesn't — we work through structured exports, email or a supervised handover step, which is slower to build but keeps fee earners working exactly where they work today. We'd rather tell you that up front than discover it in week three. If you're weighing us against other suppliers, our guide to choosing an AI company in Ireland lays out the questions to ask, and our piece on AI automation for solicitors in Ireland goes deeper on the practice-level detail.
One Narrow Problem First
We Pick the Smallest Useful Win
A short call with whoever feels the pain — usually the practice manager. Missed calls, the shared enquiries inbox, or the status queries that interrupt a conveyancer twenty times a day.
You See It on Your Own Matters
We show the agent handling your firm's actual scenarios — your tone, your fee structure, your boundary wording — before anything touches a live file.
Live in Days, Then Extend
Most firms go live within days on one area, run it for a few weeks, then add the next. Free setup until 31 August, flat monthly fee after, no contract.
What the Flat Monthly Fee Covers — and What It Doesn't
Worth reading before you set us beside a day-rate quote from a consultancy — the lines fall in different places.
| Area | What you get | What isn't part of it |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Free until 31 August — we configure the agent around your firm's boundary wording, fee structure and tone | No paid discovery phase or strategy deck to buy first |
| Proof before you commit | The agent handling your firm's own scenarios before anything touches a live file | We don't ask for a signature before you've seen it working |
| Running it | Included — we run and tune the agent as your practice changes | Not a ticket queue; the people who built it are the people you talk to |
| Data handling | EU-hosted processing, a data processing agreement, per-matter access controls and an audit log of every action | Your correspondence is never used to train models |
| Commitment | Flat monthly fee, cancel anytime | No lock-in contract and no multi-phase engagement |
| Scope | The administrative and communication layer — calls, inbox, status updates, intake, deadline prompts | No legal advice, no case-law summaries or citations, no unsupervised drafting |
Which AgentHub Agent Fits Which Problem
Most firms recognise themselves in one row. That row is the first project.
| The problem in your firm | The agent | What it does about it |
|---|---|---|
| The phone rings out while reception is on another call, at lunch or after five | AI Receptionist | Answers on the first ring, takes new callers properly and routes existing clients — legal configuration on the AI receptionist for solicitors page |
| A shared enquiries inbox nobody can stay on top of | Email Manager | Sorts and threads correspondence against the right matter as it arrives — see email management for solicitors |
| New enquiries going cold before anyone rings back | Leads Outreach | Follows up new enquiries quickly and captures them in a consistent shape — see lead generation for solicitors |
| "Any news on the contracts?" interrupting a conveyancer twenty times a day | Custom build | Answers from a status your firm sets on each matter, and escalates anything it can't answer from that record |
| Forms, ID documents and paperwork arriving in fragments | Custom build | Reads and indexes the documents and pulls the key fields into your system for a fee earner to confirm |
| Dates that must not be missed | Custom build | Flags closing dates, replies to requisitions, statutory periods and Injuries Resolution Board timelines to a named person, alongside your diary |
What Our Clients Say
Our inbox was drowning us. AgentHub's email manager now sorts everything against the right matter and drafts responses that sound exactly like us. Response times went from 48 hours to under 4 — and a solicitor still reads every one before it goes.
We were sceptical, and we said so. What sold us was that they told us what they wouldn't automate. The phone is now answered every time, and our conveyancers aren't fielding "any news?" calls all afternoon.

AI for Solicitors: Your Questions Answered
Is it safe for an Irish law firm to use AI?
It is safe in the administrative layer — calls, email routing, status updates, intake, deadline prompts. It is not safe as an unsupervised source of legal reasoning or authorities. We automate the first and deliberately stay out of the second, and nothing leaves the firm without a fee earner reading it.
Will your AI give legal advice to our clients?
No. The agents answer procedural and administrative questions — hours, fees structure, what a stage of a conveyance means in general terms, where a matter stands. Anything approaching advice is declined and passed to the relevant fee earner, and the boundary wording is agreed with you before go-live.
How do you protect client confidentiality and privilege?
Data is processed and stored in the EU, under a data processing agreement, with per-matter access controls and a full audit log of every action. Your correspondence is never used to train models. The setup is designed for GDPR and Irish Data Protection Commission expectations around privileged material.
Does it work with our case management system?
Almost every firm we speak to already runs one, so the work is integration rather than replacement. We read from and write to your existing system by API, import or a supervised handover step, so fee earners keep working exactly where they work today.
What does AI actually change day to day in a law firm?
Calls get answered when reception is busy, email lands against the right matter, routine "where are we?" queries on conveyancing and probate are answered without interrupting a fee earner, new enquiries are captured with the conflict details you need, and dates get flagged early.
How long does it take to set up?
Most firms are live within days, not months. We start with one narrow area — usually the phone or the shared enquiries inbox — prove it on your own matters, then extend. Setup is free until 31 August and there is no contract.
